Big Brother's Boob Grabbing Grandpa

I think Grandpa Jerry is the oldest person to ever enter the Big Brother house (US) at 75.

This game is so cutthroat and unforgiving, will he even last three weeks? Grandpa, who claims to be a big fan of the show, is a US Marine. He's experienced far worse, compared to the battle that is about to happen inside. But that house does all kinds of things to the human psyche. It's stressful, it's too much emotional torture...is he even going to enjoy it there?

Talk about enjoyment, on his first few hours, grandpa got to feel someone's boobies. LOL.

It's not an "Ewww!" moment, I thought it was pretty silly but cute (just look at his face --- it was like a kid getting candy!).

Well, the girl kinda asked for it. C'mon she had everyone touching her, telling them all it's real!

And Grandpa just had to see for himself:

They also nominated him as Head of Household even before they were all introduced to each other.

And I think Grandpa will do alright for weeks. His nomination speech showed wisdom and, surprisingly, someone who is in the house to really play. Uh-oh.

Big Brother Season 10's diverse cast

Surveillance camera
Image details: Surveillance camera served by picapp.com
In the middle of (USA) Big Brother's first ever Winter Edition last January, I did say I wasn't gonna watch the show anymore and I'm done with it.

Can I take back what I said?

Because the newest cast for Season 10, premiering on Sunday, seems so diverse and interesting, I may actually stay glued to the whole thing until September.

What do you think of this group? TV Guide sums them all up:
They range in age from a 22-year-old pro bodybuilder to a 75-year-old great-grandfather who has not missed a single episode of Big Brother, ever, and even checks out the After Dark feed on Showtime. (Gramps!!!)

Three of the 13 are married, and there's one divorcée. Among their names are a Libra (girl) and a Memphis (guy). The traditionally monochrome house this time will include two African-Americans and one Korean-American.

Occupations include a champion bull rider from the gay rodeo circuit, a mixologist-do-not-call-me-a-bartender, a Hooters waitress/PETA member (how does that work?), and a Catholic school teacher who says that had Hillary Clinton won the presidency, he would have moved out of the country.

There's also a "proud New Orleans socialite," a preacher's son who doesn't drink, smoke or cuss, a self-described "East Coast firecracker," someone who suffers from OCD, and one "staunch Barack Obama supporter."

I see one crazy summer in this house. And already? I'm lovin' the 75 year old Grandpa.

Bits and crumbs...

I'm happy to announce that --- I've finally gotten Big Brother off my system! USA's BB Winter Edition is currently running and surprisingly, I couldn't get past the first two episodes. In spite of the fact that Day 1 had instantly delivered the juicy stuff --- deception, arguments, connivance, sex in the bathroom cubicle and all the drama, I was not all that interested. I think that after following the format since 2002, I'm finally done with any kind of Big Brother series. I'm so proud of me. :)

Cashmere Mafia ended their season run the other day, which means, the torture I had imposed upon myself (by allowing myself to watch all 7 episodes of it ) also ended. Mum's the word on its return and I am not bummed about it. I wouldn't miss this show but it did leave me with fond memories of Lucy Liu's homage to the Grinch.

Jogging in fur is not my idea of cutting edge fashion.
The guy with her agrees with me.

Las Vegas is officially canceled.
Cane is in trouble, if anyone actually cares.
Moonlight's show runner has left the series, which could spell trouble.
Friday Night Lights may be kept alive on cable channels.

Big Brother 9 Opens tonight; Goes head to head with American Idol

The theme this season is all about pairings. Eviction would have to come in two's.

This is the first winter edition of Big Brother USA (they normally just air one season during summers) and will last 90 days.

BB Franchise calls Rustom - Brad Pitt of The Philippines

... and I was like, "What?! Who told them that?" I mean no insult and I have cried about this scene on Pinoy Big Brother. But really how did that happen? Where's the parallelism? Is it coz of the hair?? That's the only thing remotely similar I can think of. My husband had a different reaction: "Bakit, bakla na rin ba si Brad Pitt?"

The exact content:
Nearly 11,000 miles away in the Philippines another housemate sought acceptance. Movie star, Rustom Padilla, the Philippines' equivalent of Brad Pitt, has spent four weeks in their Celebrity Big Brother house.

From a famous Filipino acting dynasty, Rustom had separated from his wife just before entering the house.

In the Philippines, butterflies are symbol for rebirth. And for Rustom, this was a significant moment.

Here's the video from Big Brother Around The World, which aired in UK's Channel 4 in the last week of Dec 2007.

You can watch a complete episode on YouTube (that is if it's not deleted yet). Just search for the show's title.

If you had to equate Rustom with a Hollywood Celeb, who would you pick? For some reason, my mind zeroes in on Robert Downey, Jr. and I don't know why. LOL!

BB Housemates evicted. PERMANENTLY.

And I mean, evicted...from living and breathing.

They DIED enroute to the Big Brother house. The report isn't clear but it seems like they were out of the house already and were heading back into the house when the accident happened.
Big Brother Cancelled After Three Contestants Die

The Serbian version of reality show Big Brother has been cut short after three former housemates died in a car crash.

"Following the tragic death of former Big Brother housemates Stevan Zecevic, Elmir Kuduzovic and Zorica Lazic, B92 and the production company Emotion decided to bring (the series) to an end," the producers said.

The three were killed in a car accident near Belgrade.

The remaining seven housemates were taken out of the house and told the news away from the cameras.

Source
Meanwhile, this week is supposedly the end of Pinoy Big Brother's Celebrity Edition. Unfortunately, when they decided to bring back evicted housemates into the house last month, and Big Brother grew to become this power-tripping, unreasonable metrosexual or something (Big Brother in the Spa? What the hell was that about?!) I lost interest again. :P

Give me an ugly trashy version of Big Brother USA anytime. At least on that show, they don't hide the fact that everyone in that house has a dark side and that it's not about making people look good on TV.

On the local version? Bad deeds are masked as well-meaning good deeds. "Oh, it's only a task, you've got to trust Kuya." Bullshit. Don't pretend it's a show that's out to help people make their lives and themselves better, PBB!

Hypocrite. :P

Incidentally, if you're in a local bookstore, grab a copy of TV[Star] Guide (P80 at National, P85 at Fully Booked). I wrote a piece on what it takes to be a PBB Housemate. :) Bwaha, promo! I wrote that a month or so before publication, and at that time I was still watching the show.

Maybe I should do a follow up piece --- How Big Brother Lost Control Of His Own Show. LOL.

Grrr.

Big Brother Season 8 Finale

So, I stuck it out and saw Big Brother 8's season completely. Last year, with barely two weeks to finish, I gave up on it and instead read recaps.

Anyhow, by end of last week, everyone watching the show already know the finale was not gonna be a shocking event. In a very interesting development, estranged father and daughter --- Danielle and Dick --- emerged as the last two standing...with Dick ending up winning the grand prize.

But what I was really interested about was the big reveal of America's Player and how did his fellow house guests react when they discovered who he has been playing for all along. Here's the video:

For becoming America's Player and successfully completing most of the task assigned to him by America, Eric has won about $40,000. But the best thing is? We're probably gonna see the first Big Brother romance to ever really turn into something real outside the house. Eric has fallen in love with Jessica. And I hope I am not mistaken, but I really saw something there.

Well done!

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

A few hours ago, in the Big Brother house...

Eric tells everybody Amber's biggest secrets (2 abortions) and this made her very, very angry:

That's one way to silence an entire house.

Was Eric mistaken for telling the secret? In the Big Brother house? THERE ARE NO SECRETS! You cannot trust anyone with any secret. Have Amber been watching the show for the last seven seasons?

Have no sympathy for Amber. She's polling the lowest in the popularity votes done by CBS and she supposedly made Anti-Semantic remarks, perhaps forgetting people are gonna get all that in the live feeds.

There is at least one Jewish player in the house, Eric Stein, also 27, of New York. Stein was made "America's Player" when the game began — a secret unbeknownst to the other players — and should win barring any surprises. His main quality has been that he is the least offensive of the group.

It looks like AmERICa's player is going home this week. And I so want to see the look on their faces when they find out who Eric has been allied with all along.

Big Brother 8 - Pour me some Iced Tea....

...Just not over my head, please.

Previously in the Big Brother house:

Daniele confronts my favorite, Jen. Jen defends herself. Daniele gets loud. Nick and Dick hears them from outside, in the garden. Nick comes in and curses Jen. Dick comes in, watches as his daughter and Jen argue. Dick walks over to Jen...and POURS HALF A GLASS OF ICED TEA ON JEN's HEAD!!!

Jen just takes it all, calmly...

This happened over the weekend. Apparently after that, the house gets shaken even more. America's Player, Eric, becomes the target for eviction, mostly because a banner suspiciously flies over the house with some incriminating words on it; Dick and Jen are supposedly in alliance already (what the frack?), while Amber......she's still crying. Crying. Crying. Crying.

Whoohoo!

Big Brother 8 - JENius Tumultuous Week

Earlier, I wrote about Jen, this ultra self-centered house guest in Big Brother USA. As much as I like her the least (so far), having her in the house makes the show very, very interesting. Especially with what has happened this week --- when Jen became the Head of Household.

In Big Brother USA, every week, house guests compete to become the "leader" of the house. Becoming the leader means he or she gets to nominate two people for eviction. Jen nominates the father and daughter team of Dick and Danielle. Jen says that she nominated them both because they bring too much negativity in the house, what with their strained relationship and all. But what everybody knows is this obvious truth:
  • That Jen nominated Dick because they just cannot get along, and Dick tells it to her face.

Dick to Jen: Nobody likes you here. Why don't you just leave? I fucking hate you.

Yup that's what that pixelation in the photo is for. He said the F word, addressed to Jen. Haha. Don't let these two people out, just yet. Me want to see more fighting.
  • That Jen nominated Danielle because she is jealous of her. See, Jen likes Nick and made up a story about Nick trying to kiss her earlier. Nick didn't try to kiss her and has in fact confronted Jen about it. Nick is actually falling for Danielle.

Danielle has a boyfriend outside.

So, then now comes the Veto competition.

In Big Brother USA, a Veto competition is held in the middle of the week for the nominees (2), the Head of Household (1) and three other house guests. They will compete for the veto medal, which is a chance for one of the six to change the nominations the Head of Household has made. Those who have been nominated get a chance to put themselves off the chopping block.

Before the competition, Jen approaches one player, Amber... and told her not to try and change her nomination. Because if she did, Jen will take out Amber, or someone close to her (Dustin).

What Jen didn't know (because Jen only thinks of Jen) is that Amber's one sensitive chick, who since Day 1, has already been crying about the littlest things!!! And being in this veto competition is adding pressure for Amber because she is also close to both Dick and Danielle. Who will she save if she wins the veto?

Amber's dilemma and the fact that Jen tells her what to do, causes a big drama inside the house, leading Danielle to confront Jen, and then Dick to confront Jen....which also led Joe to confront Jen and someone else; which domino-ed and led Jameka to confront Zack.

Watch:

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! LOL!

Anyway, eventually Danielle wins the veto, much to Jen's dismay. Danielle takes herself out of the nomination block. So Jen has to nominate another person --- Joe, who is clearly the one going home this week since Dick has more people on his side than Joe.

This is perhaps the most exciting week for Big Brother, since 2005. The best part of it has to be this bonding time with the dad and the daughter, where Dick gives Danielle some fatherly advise, now that she is developing this relationship with Nick inside the house:

Other house mates everywhere ought to listen to what Dick said about falling in love inside the house.

Big Brother 8 USA - Jen cries over her photo

Day 2 in the Big Brother House (USA)....

The following scene is sooo ridiculous, I'm pretty sure thousands of viewers are already annoyed with her (Jen).

I am.

Jen cries over the picture of her that BB staffers placed in their wall of shame . As Joe, one of the other house guests said in the diary room confession --- it's like somebody has died.

And it was all because she thought it was the ugliest picture of her ever.

Coz apparently, this is how photos of her must look like:

And this is what is on the Big Brother Wall:

"Everyone else's picture is really good. Mine is horrible. [sniff] I just wanna stay here till they change it. Can I rip it off the wall? Is that possible?"

That segment in this video. Watch! Watch! Watch!

What's equally annoying is that other house guest, Jessica, who talks like a ditsy college kid. So much like Paris Hilton!

I am liking the mix of this current batch, they are mostly stupid...which means tons of entertainment for me.

Big Brother Knows CONFLICT!

USA, Season 8 - a very interesting twist is happening in this season's Big Brother. Eleven house guests went inside the Alice & Wonderland inspired house the other night. They did not know three more were already there earlier, sitting in an upstairs room, watching their every move. Those three house guests are also players. But they are not strangers to some of them. I still am not fully attentive with the show, but let me see if I got the first night's story straight:

Mystery house guest #1 is this guy, Dick. He is about 40+, the oldest in a house full of twenty somethings (just like our own Big Brother!). He's one of the house guests' estranged father and according to him, Danielle has not talked to him in 2 years. He says he has been emailing her but she has not replied to any of his attempts to contact her. Why that is...is the reason for viewers to tune to this show. When the mystery house guests were revealed towards the end of this very first episode, his daughter, all the while very quiet about the twist the host just told them, got up from the couch and went to the rest room and cried. Hmmmmm...

Mystery house guest #2 is this blonde lady, Jessica. I'm getting a Paris Hilton vibe from her, how she talks annoys me. She is in the house to challenger her rival, her childhood friend (or ex-friend), Carol. They used to be super close (as in BFF!) but had a falling out, obviously. Paris Hilton clone says ex-BFF borrowed $5 from her when they were 14 and never paid back. She also noticed there's a ring on her BFF's finger....and was surprised because "She's not loyal!" When Jessica came out of the upstairs room to reveal herself to the 11 other house guests, Carol just looked at her smugly. Raaaaaawrrrrr!

Mystery house guest #3 is Dustin. And he is gay. So is his ex-boyfriend, Joe. Dustin says Joe is really manipulative....and has ginormous nipples. Haha! I love gay men on reality TV, what comes out of their mouth always makes me laugh. Anyway, before the mystery house guests were revealed, the hosts already told the 11 they were gonna meet people from their past. Joe immediately assumes his is going to be Dustin. And then proceeds to tell everyone why he hates Dustin so much --- he gave him gonorrhea! And Joe was sure it was him because he has not been sleeping with anybody else. He told everyone that on Day 1!!! And he also asked the 11 of them to boot out the mystery guests immediately. (In BB USA, it's the house guests who choose who to evict). When it was time to meet the mystery guests, Joe gave Dustin the cold treatment, when Dustin extended his hand. I think I'm gonna go with Team Dustin in this fight.

In addition to this conflict, Big Brother has brought in this guy:

This is the very first time the show is doing this. Why he is America's player is for this reason: he will make his nominations or votes based on what the American public tells him. His sort of the representative of all those forumers and bloggers who think they can strategize/decide on things inside the house better. LOL! If the public wants so and so booted, he will vote for that person. He is America's lapdog. Every time Eric succeeds at this task, as ordered to him by America, he wins $10,000. What if America wants him booted out?

Eric is someone I would watch in this show...because he's funny:

I dunno who they're talking about, but apparently Eric was the first Jewish person that several people had met.

Somebody asked if he brought his yarmulke.

According to Dick, Eric's response was, "No, did you bring your Christmas tree?"

---- from a live feed account.

Seems like an interesting first day.....

The Sanjaya Effect

I'm sure you've heard of Sanjaya. If you haven't, then you, my friend, need to start watching crap TV. :D

Well, what we have now on local TV is known as the Sanjaya effect. And this is not a story about the weather. What I'm talking about is the latest controversy surrounding Pinoy Big Brother in that --- Wendy gets to stay. She gets a 4 in 1 shot at the grand prize. I hear lots of people cursing. But can't say I'm surprised by the result. Won't even be surprised if Wendy wins it this Saturday.

Why did Wendy stay?
  • Because she has loyal followers. Unfortunately. While they don't necessarily seem to be a big group...what they lack in numbers, they made it up for passion and devotion. Maybe they are stupid but you can’t fault them for their loyalty. Oh, yes they come to the Eviction Hall in full force. Booing at those who boo Wendy back. Shouting for Wendy if and when her face is flashed on TV. For someone like Wendy, who in a matter of one month, managed to become the most hated person on television, those are the kind of followers you need.
  • Because the rest of us who are vocal about hating Wendy, are only just that --- vocal. We say we are appalled by her behavior. We hear many others agreeing with us. And they are plenty. But what we say does not actually convert to votes for those who are still inside the house, does it? While we remain disgusted with seeing her on TV and we tell people about it, Wendy's followers in the meantime are busy texting points for Wendy. Sly diba? Matinik. Wais. Admit it, did you honestly pick up your cellphones and texted BB Mickey, Bea, Gee-Ann or Bodie? I didn't.

Did she even deserve it?

Her spot at the Big 4? Yes, she did. People voted for her, didn't they? She may even deserve the grand prize. Everybody deserves the grand prize...because it's a contest. And she, per se, didn't cheat to earn the votes. She just showed her true colors. But by doing that, she did not deserve to earn the respect of many people, perhaps millions of people. Which one should matter, really? When all of these is over? In the history of RealityTV, not ALL who won, DESERVED to win. We are just learning that now with Season 2.

Why did I not vote?

Because I'm not stupid to buy into this gimmick. It is that simple. It's the honest truth. The total amount I have spent for any reality TV show comes to less than P200.00 I suppose. And I still feel I've wasted my money. I. Still. Wasted. Money. And perhaps, ever since Big Brother thought it was good to bring back evicted housemates into the house, the rest of you stopped caring to vote as well, no? Can't blame you. At least you've wisen up and realized it isn't worth buying into this gimmick.

You do realize now it’s all a gimmick, no?

Where’s the credibility?

Boys and girls, credibility is for the news department. It’s not something you find in a RealityTV show.

On Big Brother, you look for entertainment, not credibility. You watch this show because it feeds your inner chismoso, admit it. And because you like to peek into the life of another person and find pleasure in discovering that he or she is just pathetic as you are. That doesn’t sound like a credible activity, does it?

The producers, on the other hand, do not aim for credibility in a RealityTV show. If they did, they ought to be fired right away because a moralist and a do-gooder have no place in RealityTV programming. In fact, I think some amount of crafty-ness or deviousness should flow into the veins of a RealityTV producer to survive it. Hence, I am *this close [ ] * to bowing to PBB director, Dyogi.

RealityTV programming aims for what sells…even if that means bringing back ex-housemates into the house. That isn’t illegal. That’s producing a TV "spectacle". Note that I did not just say TV show. I said "spectacle", which sounds grander than a TV "show".

There are three formulas to a successful RealityTV, none of it involves credibility:
  • Shock factor. Sex cannot happen on Philippine TV, so we leave that out. Where do we tap for the shock factor? On controversy. On all that drama for your mama. On the fact that people cannot stop talking about it.
  • Surrealism factor. Or the fact that something unreal is happening to someone you watch on TV. And if it’s bad you say to yourself --- "Thank god it’s not happening to me!" And if it’s good you say to yourself --- "I wish that can happen to me". You wonder why so many are suckered into auditioning for Big Brother even at all costs?
  • Show Me The Money factor. Ahhh, the biggest mitigating factor --- the what-happens-after-the-show-is-over. In most cases, RealityTV contestants end up having a career change, did you notice? Busboys become media personalities. Boring office staffers become media personalities. They make movies, TV shows, albums, endorsements. 15 minutes of fame well spent.

RealityTV is born from game shows. But these days nobody is contented with a game show that’s purely question and answer or something patterned after Kwarta o Kahon. And even if was patterned after Kwarta o Kahon, look at the amount of production they have to do to make you sit up and take notice: they have sexy dancers or family members in the background having a nervous breakdown just because you didn’t choose kwarta or kahon…those kinds of things.

These days, shows have to have spice, character and drama. And sometimes to do all that, people behind the show have to do a little tweaking in the production. I’m not saying things are scripted or manipulated because I have no way of knowing that myself.

I’m just saying that for the sake of entertainment --- this is what you get.

If you are smart enough to see through the cracks, then you will just sit back and watch, without buying into the gimmick.

But if you are smarter and you realize you are not liking it anymore? Hell, don’t go complaining…it’s not worth the wrinkles. It's not worth your time. Just change the damn channel.

PBB Season 2

Hihihi...am back to jologs mode. Yeah!

PBB Season 2 is airing soon (Feb 25, yes?). Voyeurism, yey! Plus we get to hear Kuya again.

For the meantime, here are stuff I found on Youtube uploaded more than a year ago. I don't know what became of many of these Housemates from Season 1 after the show was done.

But inside Kuya's house I had so much love for them. These videos made me miss the good 'ol days...

Pinoy Big Brother
SEASON 1 Moments

Big Brother USA All Stars

One of the shows I look forward to in July - BB USA. This year, they are doing the first ever ALL STARS Big Brother, of any other franchise. That means, housemates from past seasons get to come back inside the house and compete for $500,000. For Big Brother USA All Stars, the audience gets to vote for which former housemate from season's 1 to 6 gets to comeback. However, only 20 Housemates supposedly signed up for this. Of the 20, only 12 or 14 get to go back inside the house, based on votes. The list should be out in a couple of weeks.

If I get to vote, I would like to put back....let's see...I've forgotten the other HMs but I will give this a try:

Danielle - Season 3 - conniving mother bitch who did it all under the table, no one actually saw it until the final days
Josh - Season 3 - messed up the votation and veto process. I like that he got away a lot. If cats had nine lives, then Josh is a Tom Cat.
Marcellas - Season 3 - because someone opinionated can cause a lot of friction.
Allison - Season 4 - because she's also a conniving bitch. Can you tell where my list is going? Also, because she might strip again and for my sake, maybe my husband will let me keep the episodes that pile up on the PC as long as I have something to offer. The boobies are the incentives. Wehehe!
Will - Season 5 - because him + Marcellas = probable friction!
Jase & Holly - Season 5 - because they both got personalities very interesting for TV. One's dumb, the other's a dumb blonde. And together they are dumb and dumber.
Kaysar - Season 6 - someone smart has got to be on the cast.

BB USA All Stars airs July 9, 2006.

I hope the wait is worth it.

Edit: On another Big Brother note, BB UK Celebrity edition just ended a couple of weeks ago. Who won? A Non-Celebrity! Well, she passed the test... and passed it very well!

Final Thoughts on PBB CE

After two months inside the Big Brother House, celebrity housemates end their stay inside the house tonight. A grand celebration is to take place in Manila later. Unfortunately, PBBCE ends with little bang and hoopla, compared to when this show started less than six months ago with the first season. It just wasn't that interesting, at least from where I sit. And yet I still watch it on TV .... but I've stopped watching my live feeds, even as I am subscribed till the season ends

Comparing this edition vs. the first one, here is what I have observed:

PBB 1: brought out the best in ordinary people
PBB Celeb: brought out the worst in celebrities

PBB 1: They had more to gain
PBB Celeb: They had a lot to lose because of a change in perception of image

PBB 1: They didn't know the concept of this whole thing, but ended up learning plenty from it.
PBB Celeb: They had various concepts of this whole thing and ended up challenging what they have learned.

Anyway, I think this is how they will rank tonight

4 - Bianca
3 - Zanjoe
2 - John
1 - Keanna

My Top Three Moments inside the PBB CE House:

TOP 1 - Rustom's Outing -

I am gay. Gusto kong malaman ng lahat na hindi ako masamang tao.
Whether this was his plan from the very beginning (to use the show as his stage to out himself), it cannot be denied that this made Pinoy TV history. The timing was just perfect. Nothing will top that in a long while.

TOP 2 - Last night's final episode, the final tests. After all attempts to defeat the ninjas and to whether the harsh conditions in the house, it was Kuya's last words to the housemates that made it all clear and the impact more meaningful than ever. Those were very beautiful words he said to Big 4.

To Keanna he said:

Alam ko na ikaw ay isang huwaran pero siguro'y kelangan mo na ring buksan ang puso na manalig at magtiwala.
As an escort girl, Keanna has had many traumatic experiences in the past. She has been lied to and violated many times. These experiences made her stronger, true...but it also made her less trusting of people, and Big Brother was teaching her to trust again.

To John he said:

John, di habang buhay ay may mga nakakatandang gagabay sa iyo, may mga pagkakataon na ikaw lang ang magdedesiyunan, walang pagtatanungan kung ano ang paniniwalaan mo.
John, the former child star and admittedly a mama's boy, has had someone taking care of him all his life. But the experiences he had in the house ought to teach him to be able to decide for himself and take responsibility for his future.

To Bianca and Zanjoe he said:

Zanjo may bago kang buhay na haharapin paglabas mo, sana kahit papaano ay tumibay ka sa pamamahay ko. You’ve always been quiet at nirerespeto ko yun. It’s a totally different world marami kang haharapin at kelangang harapin….. tibayan mo ang loob mo at manalig ka na mga taong tutulong sayo. People will question your friendship and you should be prepared for that. May mga masasaktan and in the end, what’s important is what’s right for you, Bianca
Because this two have forged a relationship that is questionable in the eyes of other people (Bianca has a boyfriend), once they get out, it is expected that the press will be hounding them to get the scoop. And it could get ugly, for sure. Big Brother sort of prepared them for what they should experience once they get out of the house.

TOP 3 - Keanna's outburst - When she said "KFC ka kasi!" to Mich, when she meant KSP (Kulang sa Pansin). The Keanna had a major outburts; it was tough to be fighting with her at that time, but when she said KFC instead of KSP, that broke the tension. Spontaneously funny!

--------------

The next Big Brother installment comes sometime April (?) and this time it's Teens who shall occupy the house for the summer. I think I will have to pass the live feeds for this, and if I don't catch the episodes on TV, I will not lose sleep over it. Teen angst --- I can't relate to this anymore. So I'll leave it to the 16, 17, 18 & 19 years old to analyze and draw their own lessons and conclusions.

Till the next real edition!

25 March 2006

And I thought this only happens here!

Pinoys normally complain that local networks tend to milk popular shows every chance they get. They tend to also milk from whatever is the trend --- be it a personality or an event.

Take for instance PBB (Pinoy Big Brother)...because it is such a popular show (is it, still?), there was a time when it was all you see on Channel 2 (it still is!). You click to ABS-CBN and it's there, morning, noon and night. The housemates are all there, in almost every show imaginable.

Think this happens only on Pinoy TV?

Think again.

BB is a guilty pleasure in other countries, too. So popular in fact, that they even held a game show which consisted of popular Big Brother housemates (Ding! Should give ABS-CBN another idea! ).

Here is Australia's Brainiest Housemates:

Australia's Brainiest started as a Kid's show.

The format was taken from the British series entitled Britain's Brainiest Kid. The show was publicised through Australian primary schools, with children sitting an online test, some of these taking a supervised written test, and some of these appearing on the show.

It evolved to become a series, with different sets of people (e.g. housemates, footballers, musicians, etc) competing for the big prize.
