Chuck: Adam Baldwin's Hair

Am I all about the hair this week? The other day, I didn't let the George couple's hair pass. That one had been bothering me for weeks. Tonight, I set my sights on Adam Baldwin's hair on Chuck.

Adam Baldwin plays Agent John Casey and he's undercover here a lot...which explains the hair. I know it's a wig and bad wigs make people look funny. I wasn't prepared to see this though.... Coz normally his character don't usually go full blast on disguises. But to see him tonight when I saw the episode? High-la-rious!

It's not pretty bad looking, I give it that. It's just unexpected from the character (or the actor... or both).

How did they ever convince this guy to go from this....

to this....

Goofy!

Plus, plus, plus ...he also gets a big wet, slightly-opened-mouth kiss from Chuck! Hah!

Adam Baldwin's so game!

This Week in TV Fashion [10.25.08]

sam who SAMANTHA WHO?

Not so much the head dress; but the tunic blouse Samantha wore in this week's episode is cute. This is Sam's African inspired outfit. I don't think the blouse will fit anybody just like that for it may look outlandish on some women.
chuck1 jenny-hs CHUCK

Love the earrings Jenny Burton (aka Sarah Walker) is wearing. Her high school image wasn't that bad, either. Jenny/Sarah was still cute as a button in 1998.
Untitled-2 LIPSTICK JUNGLE

I am probably all earrings. It's my favorite piece of jewelry. Wendy Healy on Lipstick Jungle had these big dangling purple ones. (Amethyst?) I bought something similar recently, only smaller, and a lot less expensive I am pretty sure. :D
megan PRIVILEGED

Megan was wearing similar cuts of blouses this week, but I liked this one in purple best.
maggie

ELI STONE

Maggie's dress is a smart, stylish business attire. I think I saw Addison wore something similar on Private Practice (hers was purplish red), but I liked it better on Maggie. Like the color on her too.

Untitled-4 DIRTY SEXY MONEY

Lucy Liu guest stars for a few episode in this family drama. What do you call her sleeves? Puff-sleeves? Not for women with big arms. Which means...not for me. Heh.

Monday Marvels

Not feeling quite chatty today. I went through Monday night's line-up quietly. I wanted to write losta things about how fantastic Monday's comedy is but I hesitated (read: I'm too lazy to do it). I know what's wrong with me. But I'll spare you the personal details. Coz, you know... it's ick-y.

Anyway. Marvelous Monday nights ---
  • Penny becomes addicted to online gaming in the Big Bang Theory. How I thought this show was too corny the very first time is beyond me. BBT is probably one of the smartest comedies. And you know what? There aren't a lot of 'em on TV now!
  • Ted lists the reasons why he loves New York over New Jersey in How I Met Your Mother. And I think I know one of the reasons why Stella isn't Mother. Oh, and Robin is moving to Japan. What is going on?
  • Sam's still having his worst luck on the Worst Week. They've introduced a third or fourth sibling. My god, how many brothers and sisters does Sam's girlfriend have? I crack up a lot when I'm watching this show but the jokes are mostly stupid. Between BBT and WW, my IQ points fluctuate.
  • Bryce is back on Chuck!!!!!!!!!! Yum. Also, it is official --- Chuck is James Bond now.
  • I have yet to break-up with (breakaway from) Grey's Anatomy and it seems I'm also going to do the same for Heroes. Can they do a Sylar spinoff instead? Mohinder = eeeeeeewwww!

Zachary Levi...oh, say can you sing!

The audio to this video isn't even perfect but you can still hear Zachary Levi (Chuck) sing "The Letter". He's quite good, no? Big, solid voice. He even does the dit-dits and the doodahs. Why do I get the feeling there's going to be a Chuck Musical episode after seeing this?

Also in the clip, Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli) and Jesse Spencer (Dr. Chase). This was from last weekend's Band From TV gig.

Don't mess with this girl

Her name is Heather and she was quite a popular cheerleader in high school. Not the Claire-Bear-saves-the-world type of cheerleader. More like the "bitchy mean girl" type.

This is from Chuck's fourth episode for the second season (Chuck vs The Cougars), which will be set at a high school reunion (Sarah's if I'm not mistaken).

And she is actually Nichole Richie, who auditioned for the character that would be Sarah's (Yvonne Strahovski) nemesis.

Word is, she did quite alright with her scenes.

Chuck's Ex-Girlfriend

Jordana Brewster (The Fast and The Furious) has been picked to play Chuck's ex-girlfriend.

You remember her, Chuck mentioned her in the very first episode...the girl who broke his heart when she was also seeing his best friend, Bryce.

Yep. Her.

She's gonna have a face on the series now.

A beautiful face.
"He always has imagined seeing her again, and being able to impress her with all he's accomplished. Unfortunately, when he does meet her, he's doing a computer install and she's a brilliant, successful, beautiful doctor working to create antibodies to horrible diseases." | Ausiello
Are we liking this new girl or not? She's real cute though.

What is up with Chuck in Season 2?

Here's what I've read from spoiler sites so far...
  • Bryce (Matthew Boomer) will be back for at least one episode (yummy!). He will enlist the help of Chuck and Sarah.Chuck will be all green-eyed. And I am hoping there's another kick-ass fighting sequence with Sarah and Bryce, like last time!
  • Tony Hale (Arrested Development) is joining the cast; he will be Buy More's new assistant manager, Emmett. Yey for Tony Hale!
  • Sarah is getting a new job cover. She will also encounter an old high school classmate, where Chuck will discover, Sarah isn't really her real name.
  • Michael Clark Duncan (The Green Mile) will guest star as the baddie.

NBC Unveils 2008-2009 TV Schedule

There's a very long new list for NBC for next season but I am very excited about a lot of what they have to offer:

THE NEW
  • MY OWN WORST ENEMY - starring Christian Slater. Not a fan of his. This one's a rehashed plot, but we'll see... - Edward Albright is an operative who speaks 13 languages, runs a four-minute mile, and is trained to kill with his teeth. Henry and Edward are polar opposites who share only one thing in common -- the same body. When the carefully constructed wall between them breaks down, Henry and Edward are thrust into unfamiliar territory where each man is dangerously out of his element. "My Own Worst Enemy" explores the duality of a man who is literally pitted against himself. And it raises the question: who can you trust when you can't trust yourself?
  • KNIGHT RIDER - They are now trying to make changes to it and they are sprucing up. Which is great since I enjoyed the backdoor pilot. Anything to make it better? Sounds better!
  • CRUSOE - no cast announcements yet but it's described as --- equal parts "MacGyver," "Castaway" and "Pirates of the Caribbean"
  • KINGS with Ian McShane, a David and Goliath saga. Wow. With Ian McShane leading the cast...I'm expecting a lot of intensity.
  • MERLIN. It will be told 21st century style. Interesting...
  • THE PHILANTROPIST - I'm not so eager for this one, because, based just on the premise, I think it's been done before. But I do wanna know how they approach this story and make it fresh and original - Teddy Rist loves women, money and power. After the tragic death of his only child, Teddy has an awakening and becomes the world's first vigilante philanthropist -- a renegade billionaire who uses his wealth, connections and power to help people in need. He'll do anything to achieve his goals -- bargain with the self-righteous, trade with the nefarious and even tell the truth. Instead of spending $25,000 a plate at a fundraiser, he's dodging bullets in third-world countries to hand-deliver vaccine.
  • THE LISTENER - I was thinking they make this one into a comedy series instead, and not take the serious route, no? - In this one-hour drama, Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik, "The Runaway") is a 24-year-old paramedic living with a secret: he can read people's minds. This telepathic procedural takes viewers into the heart of a tortured hero who struggles to solve crimes with his unique gift
  • KATH & KIM starring Molly Shannon. Molly Shannon! I'm so watching this.
THE GOOD
  • Chuck S2 and Heroes S3 are scheduled back to back on Mondays.
  • Lipstick Jungle S2 is up on Wednesday evenings.
  • Friday Night Lights S3 is still alive.
THE BAD
  • No more SCRUBS! I'm hurt. But not so hurt since it's moving to another channel (ABC).
  • Life S2 is moved to the Friday slot, which could kill the show.
These schedules are subject to change. We're going to find out what the other networks have for us TV junkies in six weeks time.

The complete press release and 2008-2009 season schedule is here.

Bye for now, Chuck

In the final episode of Chuck, now on a strike-forced hiatus, his status as the Intersect is at a risk when another agent learns of his identity. The CIA and the NSA soon decide it is time for Chuck to vanish. But Chuck realizes he isn't ready to leave his family. Especially not with his lovely sister and Capt. Awesome getting engaged.

The abrupt haitus also leaves me feeling the same as Chuck. I'm not ready to see this show disappear from its timeslot. But it's not up to me. :(

On the brighter side, informal strike talks resumes today. And there are indications that this should be the beginning of the end (of the strike). So, here's hoping we get to watch Chuck and the rest of our favorites in a month's time.

USA audience should tune to the final episodes of Chuck on Thursday, Jan 24 at NBC.
