[Big Bang Theory] This Kiss! This Kiss!

♫ It's the way you love me
It's a feeling like this
It's centrifugal motion
It's perpetual bliss
It's that pivotal moment
It's, ah, impossible
This kiss, this kiss
Unstoppable
This kiss, this kiss ♬

This 25-second kiss happened in this week's episode. It was not as exciting as when Ross and Rachel first kissed on Friends. But it showed a new side to Sheldon when everybody knows how insensitive he is.

So, what next? Judging by what happened after this scene, I don't think the kiss will lead to anywhere yet. Check back in Season 13.

UPDATE: Read Mayim Bialik's behind-the-scenes account of *The Kiss* on her website. She sums it up in 5 bits. Here's part of it:
I caught a glance of the kissing scene after it was done when it was showed to our studio audience a few weeks ago. As with the tiara moment, I was startled that my internal acting process (for lack of a better word) has a physical representation that is so striking. Consciously, I have little notion of how I will physically represent things as an actor. When there is no physical action scripted or indicated, I simply act emotions and those emotions sometimes have a physical representation and just are. I don’t know if that makes sense, but Actor Mayim representing Fictional Character Amy in such a physical way with this kiss is as touching to me as it is to you.

Monday Marvels

Not feeling quite chatty today. I went through Monday night's line-up quietly. I wanted to write losta things about how fantastic Monday's comedy is but I hesitated (read: I'm too lazy to do it). I know what's wrong with me. But I'll spare you the personal details. Coz, you know... it's ick-y.

Anyway. Marvelous Monday nights ---
  • Penny becomes addicted to online gaming in the Big Bang Theory. How I thought this show was too corny the very first time is beyond me. BBT is probably one of the smartest comedies. And you know what? There aren't a lot of 'em on TV now!
  • Ted lists the reasons why he loves New York over New Jersey in How I Met Your Mother. And I think I know one of the reasons why Stella isn't Mother. Oh, and Robin is moving to Japan. What is going on?
  • Sam's still having his worst luck on the Worst Week. They've introduced a third or fourth sibling. My god, how many brothers and sisters does Sam's girlfriend have? I crack up a lot when I'm watching this show but the jokes are mostly stupid. Between BBT and WW, my IQ points fluctuate.
  • Bryce is back on Chuck!!!!!!!!!! Yum. Also, it is official --- Chuck is James Bond now.
  • I have yet to break-up with (breakaway from) Grey's Anatomy and it seems I'm also going to do the same for Heroes. Can they do a Sylar spinoff instead? Mohinder = eeeeeeewwww!

Big Bang Theory S2 E1 - The Bad Fish Paradigm

Somehow, the idea of Penny and Leonard becoming more than friends didn't seem right. Because by doing that, it would make Big Bang Theory as common as every other story about a Chick falling in love with the Geek.

But I found myself rooting for them.

I may be off the tracks here, but this really felt like a Ross and Rachel thing.

And rather than keeping focus on the geek's insecurities (as these kinds of stories usually do), the episode was cleverly built on the beautiful girl second-guessing herself!

Penny: Has Leonard ever dated a girl that wasn't a brainiac?
Sheldon: Let's see. There was a girl a few years ago who was a PhD in French Literature.
Penny: How is that not a brainiac?
Sheldon: Well, for one thing, she was French. For another, it was literature.
Penny: Sheldon, do you think if Leonard and I keep on dating, will he get bored with me?
Sheldon: That depends.
Penny: On what?
Sheldon: Do you have a working knowledge of quantum physics?
Penny: No.
Sheldon: Do you speak Klingon?
Penny: No.
Sheldon: Do you know any card tricks?
Penny: Okay.... I get it. Leonard has no business with being involved with a waitress slash actress who felt so insecure that she lied to him about finishing community college.
This show is growing on me!

A stressful Wednesday and yesterday's comedies...

Heyi-ho! I hate to open this entry with a rant, but here I go... I don't think I've ever said this but I hate Wednesdays. Oh, wait...maybe I did. The way I rant and complain about the littlest things? I probably did already say I hate Wednesdays.

I work tons of jobs, plus I work at home, without a maid. So I keep two hats on. Sometimes three, sometimes four.

The most important of my work is this fambiz (family business) I have to oversee one-two days a week. And Wednesdays happen to be the most important day for it --- paperwork, phone calls, follow-ups, yadda yadda. All on Wednesdays.

Which means, I would have little time to do other things. Like my other jobs or like watching my shows.

It's a good thing I've only got American Idol to tune to on a Wednesday. Imagine if this were a regular TV season.

Today has been especially stressful and I won't have to bore you with the details but let's just say I hope it's Thursday already. Or Friday. Or the weekend. I just hate Wednesdays!

Anyway, yesterday was Comedy Monday (Tuesday, really.... since we're a day ahead than the States). I tuned to Two and A Half Men out of curiosity. They did a CSI Crossover. I'm not a regular viewer of the show. No need to wonder why ---- it sucks! And I'm gonna watch CSI this week (when I don't really follow this show that well anymore) just to satisfy my curiosity.

The Big Bang Theory this week featured Sheldon's gorgeous fraternal Twin Sister. Who would've thought they'd come from the same egg? And the boys treated her like a goddess, they made a fool of themselves.

Samantha Who? was a riot. She rounded up her gal pals and stalked her mom, who she suspected was having an affair, which wasn't the case. On the other hand, Sam is actually having an affair with her ex-boyfriend. Ooooh. Bad, Sammy!

Sarah Chalke was back on How I Met Your Mother. She really has grown as an actress over the years, (I'm currently re-watching her other show, Scrubs Season 2, as well). Her comedic timing is flawless. Barney, meanwhile, is looking for a new wingman since he and Ted had a falling out. His new wingman is that guy from SNL and he's brilliant. Watch:

House abducted his favorite daytime soap opera star upon suspicion he's sick and probably dying. House of course is right and they save his life. I love the fact that House is so addicted to his TV shows. Just like me.

So, okay...that's it for now.

It's still a Wednesday, the day's not done. I've still got work to finish. Ugh.

Oh, wait --- if you're on Multiply, please add me up.

Funny Monday: How I Met Your Mother S3 E16, Big Bang Theory S1 E13, Samantha Who S1 E12

Alright, watching, done!

1) There's a big spoiler on How I Met Your Mother this week. I wrote it on ClickTV.

2) I did not get a lot of what went on in the Big Bang Theory tonight. They had a quiz contest and really, only geeks would be able to understand most of it. All of it.

But this line made me laugh out loud.

3) Deanna finds someone on Samantha Who? and why should she not, she's a pretty girl!

And Samantha quits her job. She's slowly discovering the kind of person she wants to be, post-amnesia.

I wish I could post more, but being out the whole day today exhausted the crap out of me. I'm gonna curl up in bed now and watch more TV.

Comedy Monday Treats: How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Samantha Who

As much as I love Comedy Thursdays on NBC, I also fervently enjoy some Comedy Mondays on CBS (and ABC) as well. I'd like to think I know very well what this article is talking about in that --- I am not missing out on most things in the funny department. You could say, I'm either a sitcom snob or the square gal who still enjoys old style sitcom pacing. The most important thing is, I've got the best of both worlds!

So, earlier... I enjoyed me a couple of Monday's comedy best with HIMYM, TBBT and Sam Who.

This week's story on How I Met Your Mother --- Marshall is having major problems at work. And as much as I think he's my most favored character in this series, this wasn't a particularly exciting episode. The highlight of the night, really, was Robin's Vanilla Ice Cream (see photo)...which left me craving for it (and sadly can't have because I still have this terrible cough!)

Anyway, this story was originally called The Ninja Report.

Marshall: So, I'm working on this report called, "Using 23Bs on B3 Class Action Precedent..."
Ted: Dude, you lost us. Can you just call it something cool like, "The Ninja Report"

But the episode title was later changed to The Chain of Screaming. And here's Barney to explain the theory:

The last part of this episode, with Marshall finally telling Lily the case with his boss and his job? It was cheesy. But I confess, it made my eyes misty though...it reminded me of how very true it is for young, new couples coming face to face with life's realities. (Hell, that's one cheesy statement!)

Following my viewing of HIMYM was The Big Bang Theory...

You know what, it's really gonna be very hard to explain this show, without sounding like a geeky loser myself, so I'm not even gonna try. Let me just bring you this clip of how this show is able to find something funny in the problem with teleportation. Watch the guy in stripes (Sheldon). He's IQ is 187, a stiff, self-righteous nerd who is actually the best thing about this series.

And finally, to close this day's triple treat is Samantha Who?. Big surprise of the night? Timothy Olyphant (Hitman), whose hair is already growing back. I didn't know he was going to be a guest this week (didn't read synopsis or watched previews) and would love for him to come back. (Is he?)

Timothy Olyphant played Samantha's boss, Winston Funk, who comes to the office offering Sam the biggest, heaviest engagement ring any girl could have. Apparently, while Funk was on the verge of divorcing his wife, he was also dating pre-amnesia Sam....who, it's clear to me now, has been a very busy, bad, bad girl dating plenty of men on the side, even with Todd (Barry Watson) as her boyfriend.

By the way, Timothy Olyphant and Barry Watson? Look-a-likes! Google their images up!

Anyway, making this all too fuzzy for Sam is the fact that she realizes her best friend, Andrea, has her eyes on their billionaire boss as well.

Uh-oh...how will her BFF react when she learns of the marriage proposal? Does Sam really love Winston Funk enough to marry him? And what about Todd, what would he feel about seeing Sam's picture on the gossip pages with Mr. Funk?

Hooray for Comedy Mondays!

Yet another Pinoy mention on American TV: Big Bang Theory S1 E10

One of the main characters hired an actor to pretend he's the cousin on drug rehab. To be convincing, they are trying to figure out what the actor's motivation is. The actor suggested he was traumatized as a teen by a priest in Subic Naval base.

Watch the video:

The episode aired March 24th on CBS.
