Bravo, Lost, Bravo!

SPOILER ALERT....

Christian Shepard: Everyone dies sometime, kiddo. Some of them before you, some of them long after you.

Jack Shepard: Why? Are they all here now?

Christian Shepard: Well, there is no "now" "here"….. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people. That's why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone, Jack. You needed all of them and they needed you.

Jack Shepard: For what?

Christian Shepard: To remember….and to let go…..

Jack Shepard: Kate…she said we were leaving.

Christian Shepard: Not leaving…no. Moving on…

Everything that happened in the island was real. The plane did crash. They did remain stuck on that darn island.  Some lived longer and some died while trying to survive there.

The sideways timeline, that got us all confused, was the world these Losties created. So that they can find each other...when they're "ready to leave".

Not everyone in the whole cast is seen here seating on the church benches as they are waiting for each other (to move on...). I take that to mean, those not yet present are not yet ready to move on (but of course, the truth is, they weren't asked back on the show! LOL). Ben is actually outside those doors, not even sure if he was coming in because he's got "stuff to figure out". And they will be there waiting for him if he does come inside.

Since Jack is the central character in all of these, he sees each and every character the way they are, the way he remembers them. Sayer, Kate, Miles, Lipidus, Richard and everyone else, may have lived the ripe old age of 90 when they actually died, but in this, their meeting place ---- Kate is how Jack remembers her, young and beautiful.

Did not care much for the "scientific explanation" anymore. Or what's the purpose of the electromagnetic thingamagig and why the Dharma team's supposed to be there. Did not care much for what's the connection of Jacob and Smokey to all of these. Maybe that one's the other part the Losties also created to prepare themselves for when they eventually move on.

But I think that it all was for Jack's benefit. And by "all" I mean, everything that had to happen in the last six years, including the one about trying to find your constant and the one where they try to go back the island to fix things? It was all for Jack....to make him realize the time is right for him to "let go".

And if this is the way they chose to end this.... I'm truly very satisfied.

Thank you, Lost writers, for six years of turning my brain into pulp bits!!! It was one helluva ride! Now please hand me my sanity back.

BTW, the soundtrack was awesome!!
